It’s the first big hip hop show I’ve ever been to, since I usually don’t like big shows. When Peter and I get particularly drunk DJing, we sometimes do a rap tangent, and “Doobie Ashtray” is one of our favorites. The show was interesting though- I’ve never seen so much weed being smoked, and the opening acts mostly just rapped over other people’s songs (example: rapping over California Love). By the time Devin actually came onstage, it was 1:15. However, Peter entertained me while we were waiting by sneaking backstage, and getting so high with Devin the Dude that he couldn’t find his way back out, and instead spent the rest of the show onstage. A redhead in glasses and a Cubs hat.</p> <p>Fun overall, except for seeing somebody get stabbed at the end of the night on my way to hailing a taxi… I’ve seen plenty of bad fights, but never so much blood, and guys running every which direction.
